About Us

GeoLocal.net is the sister site to GeoLocal.com our original site, which was developed with the do-it-yourself small business owner in mind. We naively thought small business owners would want to do their own local internet marketing ... build websites, manage mailing lists, etc.

Three years later, we now know that most small business owners have no desire to do this kind of stuff. Either they're too busy or too afraid of computers. Maybe both.

We also realized that most small business owners don'tsmall business owner realize how BIG and powerful the Internet has become. Those that do recognize the power of the Internet are confused by all the conflicting marketing messages and rhetoric they get...so they do nothing.

So GeoLocal.com evolved into a site for do-it-yourself business owners and other internet types who are perhaps involved in web design or consulting, who want to help small businesses in their local communities.

This site is for the small business owner who wants someone else to do it the Internet stuff for them so they can focus on their core business. There's some self-serve, but it's mostly full-service, out-of-the box local internet marketing for small business owners.

GeoLocal has been in this field longer than just about anyone else online, with the exception of The Kelsey Group. We wrote the first book on the subject, "How to Use the Internet to Promote Your Local Business," published in April 2002.

GeoLocal.com was one of the pioneers of Local Internet Marketing, Local Search, Local Online Marketing, Small Business Internet Marketing Promotion, etc. Whatever you call it, we have been in this field longer than just about anyone else online, and we know what we're doing.

There are plenty of knock-offs and copycats now -- you'll find lots of books and seminars using that exact same title, for obvious reasons. But we were among the first to blaze this trail, and we have the arrows in our back to prove it!
